About us

Quakers have worshipped in Stoke Newington for over 350 years.

Currently we are based in the St Mary's Centre, beside St Mary's New Church in Stoke Newington N16 9ES. We meet there in person:

  • Every Sunday at 5.00pm for a meeting for worship
  • Every 3rd Sunday of the month there is a children's meeting. See Children's Meeting for more.
  • Every 2nd Sunday in Feb, Apr, Jun, Sep, Nov to attend to our business
  • On other occasions for learning or socialising or actioning
  • See the Events calendar for a full list of what is going on.

Our community is about 40 strong, with 10 to 20 or more gathering regularly to worship together. Central to Quaker belief is that everyone, EVERYONE!, has something of the light within them, so all are genuinely welcome to come and join us as we all try to find, and stay in touch with, that bit of ourselves in worship and community.

Stoke Newington Quakers are part of North London Area Meeting and Britain Yearly Meeting.
